It’s just the feeling of being fully alone in the whole world. It’s the impression that you’re an alien and can’t fit in, no matter how you try. And it’s a tiny hope which still exists and helps this lonely girl to go on. Like a shadow, she watches the time go by without knowing who she is and why she is here – same questions everybody has times to times. But she doesn’t give up and keep on dragging herself each day to a hill to ignite the fire, hoping to see and to be seen.

This music video has become our quarantine project and a very fresh experience. Me and my boyfriend (who is also a DOP) were spending our first month of Coronavirus-apocalypse in a total isolation on the countryside corner with no people and only beautiful views around, as the band We Blame The Empire approached us. We were definitely into making a new project with them and decided to use an opportunity and create a short film.

So, it was only two of us – no actors, no crew, no band performance. We had only equipment we got with us, that’s why we mainly used the natural and available light. The locations had to be around within the walking distance and definitely isolated, so we wouldn’t break social distancing rules. But the creativity has no borders, so we have managed to create a story and a visual concept which not only looked interesting but also matched the mood and message of the song.
